Bespoke Metal Garden Furniture Designed for Outdoor Living

A garden is more than an outdoor space. It can be somewhere to relax, entertain, dine and spend time with family and friends. The right furniture helps define how that space is used while also adding character to the overall garden design.

At Ash Architectural, we create bespoke metal garden furniture designed around the individual space, project and style of our customers. One of our latest projects features a subtle shallow curve, manufactured from stainless steel and completed in a warm bronze powder-coated finish.

We have only recently completed the pieces and are still waiting for the full project photographs, but the finished design demonstrates how bespoke metalwork can bring together durability, comfort and sculptural form.

A Softer Approach to Metal Furniture

Metal garden furniture is often associated with straight lines and angular structures. For this project, we introduced a gentle, shallow curve to give the furniture a softer and more welcoming appearance.

The curve creates a sense of movement and allows the furniture to sit naturally within a landscaped garden. It provides the clean, contemporary finish of architectural metalwork without appearing too rigid or industrial.

This type of curved design works especially well around patios, planted areas, fire pits and informal seating spaces.

Stainless Steel Made for Outdoor Use

The furniture has been manufactured from stainless steel, providing a strong and durable foundation for an outdoor setting.

Stainless steel is an excellent material for bespoke garden furniture because it can be formed into distinctive shapes while creating a robust structure suitable for regular use. It is particularly valuable for made-to-measure projects where standard furniture may not suit the available space or desired layout.

Careful fabrication is essential to achieving a clean finish, especially when working with curved forms and visible architectural details.

A Warm Bronze Powder-Coated Finish

The stainless-steel furniture has been finished with a bronze powder coating.

Bronze was selected to introduce warmth and help the metalwork complement the natural materials and colours found within a garden. It pairs beautifully with green planting, timber, stone, paving and brickwork.

The finish provides a more distinctive alternative to conventional black or grey garden furniture while remaining understated enough to work within a wide range of outdoor settings.

Powder coating also creates a smooth and consistent surface, helping the different pieces feel like part of one coordinated collection.

Made Around the Space

One of the main benefits of bespoke garden furniture is the freedom to design each piece around its intended location.

The dimensions, shape, finish and arrangement can all be tailored to the space. This is particularly useful for curved patios, awkward corners, narrow terraces or larger landscaped gardens where standard furniture does not provide the right fit.

Bespoke metal furniture can include:

  • Garden tables and dining tables

  • Benches and integrated seating

  • Side tables and coffee tables

  • Outdoor kitchen and island structures

  • Planters with incorporated seating

  • Furniture for terraces and entertaining areas

  • Coordinated pieces for hospitality spaces

Rather than choosing individual items that may not work together, bespoke furniture allows the entire outdoor area to have a consistent design language.

Suitable for Residential and Commercial Projects

Custom metal garden furniture can be created for private gardens as well as hotels, restaurants, offices, apartment developments and other commercial outdoor spaces.

For hospitality and commercial projects, bespoke furniture can help make better use of the available area while creating a memorable environment for visitors. Tables, seating, planters and screens can also be designed together to create a complete and coordinated outdoor scheme.

Furniture That Becomes Part of the Garden

Well-designed garden furniture should not feel like an afterthought. It should relate to the surrounding architecture, planting and landscaping.

The shallow curves and bronze finish used in our latest project allow the furniture to become part of the garden itself. The metal provides structure, while the shape and colour create a softer connection with the natural setting.

As the planting changes throughout the seasons, the furniture remains a consistent architectural feature within the space.
